Probate

When a loved one passes away, a probate proceeding may be necessary to resolve ownership of assets, liability for debts, or other issues.

Probate proceedings are usually filed in the county where the deceased person resided. The person appointed by the court to be responsible for the estate is the personal representative (also called “executor”/“executrix” or “administrator”/“administratrix”).

In Arkansas, the personal representative usually must have an attorney representing him or her in the probate. Our experienced probate attorneys assist personal representatives through the probate process with compassion, confidence, and professionalism.

Sometimes there is a dispute between the surviving family members over inheritance or other issues. We also provide legal advocacy for heirs or creditors in probate matters.
